How You Can Help

 

Volunteers are always needed:
We appreciate everyone who can lend us a hand in the office, in the processing plant and with recycling collection and sorting. We also welcome participation with the board committee work such as the public information, education and fundraising.

If you have a specific skill or talent that you would like to share, please contact Community Outreach.

Ongoing Projects - Volunteer!

  • Household Recycling Collection - help with the collection and sorting of household recyclable materials on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
  • Office Management - assist with correspondence, filing, copying, phone answering, and other office tasks.
  • Public information - write press releases and public service announcements; copy and distribute newsletters, create flyers and brochures.
  • Building maintenance - help with maintenance of our building.

Special Annual Projects & Events - Volunteer!

  • Alaska State Fair - collection and sorting of materials during the fair, helping prepare Recycling Fair Booth, and providing information at VCRS's Recycling Booth during the fair .
  • MSB Annual Valley Clean Up - preparation for the annual collection of junk cars, large appliance and scrap metal.
  • Mat Su Valley Home Show - preparing VCRS booth before show, and providing information about recycling during the show.
