Recycle triangles with a number inside are used as a Resin Identification Code (RIC) on plastics. They are used solely to identify the plastic resin used in a manufactured article.

VCRS can accept and has a market for plastic bottles with a RIC #1.

Plastics in the shape of cups, clamshells, tubs, trays etc with a RIC #1 are known as Thermoforms and MUST NOT be included with the bottles. They are not the same chemically and are not recyclable at VCRS at this time. Throw away these “other” shaped RIC #1 plastics or try not to buy them.
